Early Sampler with Provenance

New York state alphabet, numerical and stitching sampler signed "Elvira Still", dated "1830", noted "aged 10", located at "Alexandria, Jefferson Co, State of NY" and with even "M.W. Inst." stitched in the lower right hand corner who was Elvira's finishing school instructor. Colors are in predominately blues and browns. Alexandria is now known as Alexandria Bay near the Thousand Islands which are in the St. Lawrence River. Framed in its original frame and it has never been removed. In very good condition except for a couple of small holes. Measures 14 1/2" wide by 12" high, framed.
